JOB SUMMARY

Operate CTP equipment to expose metal plate from digital files to produce offset printing plates. Review images produced on plate for defects or errors. Maintain production documentation. Replenish chemical solutions in automatic plate processors and perform routine light maintenance on equipment. Maintain file system.

Operate Epson proofers with EFI Fiery software RIP to create contract proofs for customer sign off.

REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Reads press schedule, job ticket, look at VPS to determine what size plate is used.

SUMMARY: Cutter sets up, adjusts and operates all cutting equipment to prepare product to be printed, collated or bound, ensuring the meeting of customer specifications, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

SUMMARY

The Print Production Scheduler works closely with production management to establish and drive a schedule that maximizes efficiency, resources, and capacity to meet customer requirements and deadlines in a cost-effective manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review, record and traffic all work orders submitted to production for offset and digital print jobs plus prepress, finishing, mailing and shipping
• Coordinate with suppliers and outside vendors and proactively update Sales and Production Management team on items that could delay delivery date
• Prepare daily WIP and production management reports, and distribute as needed
• Provide administrative support to the Production Management team as needed
• Attend project-specific and production management meetings as needed and provide guidance on potential scheduling issues
• Provide timely feedback to Sales and Service team concerning job problems or delays that may affect the delivery date
• Partner with Purchasing to monitor material delays to ensure availability of approved materials required to support the manufacturing requirements based on the schedule
• Monitor status of work in progress, material availability and any proactively address potential scheduling problems
• Support production team members in troubleshooting when issues or questions arise

This individual will be responsible for processing and presorting mailing data used in a variety of customer mailings, and will be a liaison between Ideal Printers Mailing team and the United States Postal Service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program assigned data and layout work, using a variety of software tools.
  • Working with and navigating USPS postal regulations.
  • Navigate and troubleshoot various data processing projects.
  • Interface directly with sales, accounting, and productions managers.
  • Follow Standard Work instructions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in mail processing software (BCC Mail Manager experience preferred), Microsoft Access/Excel, postal software, dBase, and other text editing software.

SUMMARY

The role of the Prepress Technician is to preflight, troubleshoot, and prepare files for output to conventional plates using Kodak’s Prinergy Workflow, prepare for imposition, and have a strong working knowledge of Adobe’s Creative Suite desktop publishing applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Use specialized publishing software to format and combine text, numerical data, photographs, charts, and other visual graphic elements to produce files ready for printing production
    • Develop overall layout and design of newsletters, brochures, books, posters, and other documents
    • Troubleshoot and repair problematic files as needed
    • Review client files for adherence to the client’s graphic identity standard and the United States Postal Service mailing regulations
    • Provide technical support for Account Executives and Client Services Engineers regarding new and traditional graphic arts techniques and procedures
    • Maintain literacy with latest design and offset printing technology, and evaluate new publishing and prepress software.
    • Work with supervisor to develop, implement, and maintain imaging and prepress workflow procedures
    • Detail-oriented and able to accurately read and interpret company-based job tickets
    • Keep an organized workspace both on the server and in the office so that others may easily locate pertinent information

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

    • Comprehensive computer skills using Macintosh OSX software/hardware

    • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills both in file management and use of server‑based hierarchy

Reads job tickets then sets up press and runs to match specifications of the job. Works with the other shift on the 240 to perform preventative maintenance of the press.
